Husk of the Heart
Lifelong project by Alex J. Kim
abstract animation sequence of 2024-1001-1130
I crumple and spread the paper as a ritual practice to deconstruct my ego. Then, I intuitively write and draw to express my feelings and thoughts of the moment of the day. Finally, I finish the process by erasing some marks I've made to keep a distance from the image to be "read" or "understood." I only try to leave the residue of my being as fragments.
The bark that a tree sheds as it grows looks beautiful just the way it is. And so do we as we “live” today, crumpling and unfolding, writing, drawing and erasing.
